The observed elevation of MAPK4 abundance (FC = 1.92, Table 1) is in agreement with the recent finding of the strong association of MAPK4 overexpression with the rapid tumor development and metastasis via phosphorylation of AKT and downstream activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway that regulates cell surveillance [17]. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is neoplasm.
