miR-193a-5p was found to be upregulated in a mouse model of ALI induced by inhalation of staphylococcal enterotoxin B. Pathway analysis revealed that miR-193a-5p is involved in ALI progression by targeting several molecules of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling (TGF-β2, TGFβ-R3) and apoptotic signaling pathways (Alghetaa et al., 2018). The gene discussed is TGFB2; the disease is acute respiratory distress syndrome.
