To develop new therapeutic agents in AD, several Tau-based therapeutic approaches are currently emerging, including Tau phosphorylation inhibitors (Mazanetz and Fischer, 2007), microtubule stabilizers (Zhang et al., 2005), Tau aggregation inhibitors (Wischik et al., 1996; Pickhardt et al., 2015), and immune therapy (Kontsekova et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
