An in vitro study showed that resveratrol significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of ovarian cancer cells, meanwhile damaging glycolysis, evoking apoptosis in these cells via increasing the expression and activation of AMPK and caspase 3, and decreasing the expression and activation of AMPK downstream kinase mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
