RAN and gastric ulcer: As shown in Figures 3(b) and 3(c), the GUI in the HCl/ethanol group was 6.75 (5.5–8.0) significantly higher than that in the CON group (P < 0.01), the GUI in the AN- and RAN-pretreated groups was 2.5 (1.5–4.0) and 2.25 (1.0–3.0) significantly lower than that in the HCl/ethanol group (P < 0.05), and the ulcer inhibition rate in AN- and RAN-pretreated groups was 46% and 63%, respectively, suggesting that AN may have a protective effect against the gastric ulcer induced by HCl/ethanol in mice.
