Two of the best-performing panels were as follows: (1) panel of APC, MGMT, RASSF2A, and Wif-1, which can identify CRC cases with 86.5% sensitivity and 92.1% specificity, using methylation-specific PCR [96]; it can also distinguish adenoma patients with 74.6% sensitivity; (2) panel of methylated C9orf50, KCNQ5, and CLIP4, to be detected in plasma using methylation-specific droplet digital PCR, which achieves 85% sensitivity and 99% specificity for CRC [97]. The gene discussed is WIF1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
