Our success in producing GAA with the M3 structure in the Arabidopsis alg3 cell culture emphasizes the potential of our glycoengineered Arabidopsis cell culture for producing other recombinant proteins in which M3 and/or cellular delivery through MR is desired, such as in the enzyme replacement therapies for Gaucher disease, Fabry disease, Wolman disease, and cholesteryl ester storage disease (Du et al., 2005; Limkul et al., 2016; Shen et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene NR3C2 and Fabry disease.
