Circulating levels of I-FABP (median, IQR pg/mL) at T0 were higher in COVID-19 than those in HD [667.3 (231.7-1266) vs 341.6 (302.1-619.4), respectively, p=0.11], although they did not reach statistically significance; by contrast, this difference was remarkable over the course of infection [804.5 pg/mL (422.5-1086), p=0.02] (Figure 1C). This evidence concerns the gene FABP2 and COVID-19.
