Accelerated thymic involution was reported in MS patients with either relapsing-remitting (RRMS) or primary progressive (PPMS) MS forms (20), and initial works also found an increased percentage of CD4+CD28- T cells in a subset of MS patients (mainly RRMS), preferentially producing IFN-γ (21).
