RO60 and systemic lupus erythematosus: Almost all SLE patients present with a large number of detectable autoantibodies against nucleic acid-(DNA or RNA)-associated proteins, with a particular emphasis on antinuclear antibodies (ANAs), anti-double stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA) antibodies, anti-Smith (Sm) antibodies, and anti-Sjögren’s syndrome-related antigens A and B (SSA/Ro and SSB/La, respectively) (1, 2).
