However, an opposite result was found after REMSD or fluoxetine treatment alone (Figures 3A–O, P < 0.05), and in comparison, the combined therapy of REMSD and fluoxetine further promoted the effects of REMSD and fluoxetine treatments on upregulating the expressions of the A1 adenosine receptor, Bcl-2, and PI3K and suppressing those of Bax, P38 MAPK, cFos, and ADAR2 in the hippocampi of rats with depression (Figures 3A–O, P < 0.001).
