In immunohistochemistry test, compared to non‐sarcomatoid HCC, sarcomatoid HCC showed comparable rates of positive conventional HCC markers (hepatocytes, glypican‐3, and α‐fetoprotein), higher rates of positive cholangiocyte markers (CK7 and CK19), and specific expression of mesenchymal/epithelial markers (vimentin and CK) (Figure 3A). The gene discussed is VIM; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
