Existing studies have shown that cognitive impairment is the most common and challenging syndrome in clinical practice in Alzheimer’s disease (Lu et al., 2017; Rabin et al., 2017), and that blood cell TRPC6 mRNA levels are reduced in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment (Lu et al., 2018; Chen et al., 2019). Here, TRPC6 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
