Recently, independent electrophysiological investigations demonstrated a loss-of-function of TRPM3 ion channel after stimulation with two potent TRPM3-agonists, pregnenolone sulfate (PregS) and nifedipine, and inhibition with a selective and potent blocker, the deoxybezoin ononetin, in NK cells from three different cohorts of ME/CFS patients (11–13). Here, TRPM3 is linked to myalgic encephalomeyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
