AURKA and TPX2 are required for proliferation in most cells; however, our data and data from DepMap demonstrated that WDR62 is uniquely essential for proliferation in prostate cancer cells, suggesting WDR62 could be a potential molecular target in mCRPC patients to disrupt AURKA-TPX2 signaling without being lethal to other non-prostate tissues39–41. The gene discussed is AURKA; the disease is prostate cancer.
