Our current study showed the impact of fibroblast IKK-β deficiency on Ang II–induced macrophage infiltration into the heart and on inflammatory responses, but the specific contribution of different types of macrophages (e.g., CCR2+ vs. CCR2–) toward Ang II–induced cardiomyopathy will need further investigation. The gene discussed is CCR2; the disease is cardiomyopathy.
