S100A7 is upregulated in several types of malignancies including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC), breast cancer (BRCA), and skin cutaneous melanoma, leading to tumor growth, premetastatic niche formation, and metastasis.13, 17, 18.
