The pathophysiology of TLR2 in host immunity against CDI was supposed to be correlated with the activation of interleukins because in leprosy patients with the TT genotype, compared to the CC/CT genotype, those with the TLR2 rs3804099 genotype had an increased risk of infection, which might be associated with more than twofold increased expression of IL-6 (40). This evidence concerns the gene TLR2 and clostridium difficile infection.
