BMI1 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes: There was also a statistically significant increase in the BMI1 transcript levels in the primary GC tissue classified as lymph node metastasis N3 (p = 0.010) and counterpart histopathologically confirmed disease-free margin tissue (p = 0.040) in the carriers of the T/T versus C/C genotypes but not in the carriers of the C/T versus C/C genotypes (p = 0.087, p = 0.23, respectively) (Fig. 1C,D).
