HOOK3 and Familial prostate cancer: Hook microtubule-tethering protein 3 (HOOK3) is one of the homologues of HOOK family, which is abundantly enriched in human cells and functions as adaptor proteins to facilitate the trafficking of membranes among Golgi apparatus [22], centrosomes [23], endosomes [24] and lysosomes [24, 25], and high-levels of HOOK3 can be used as an independent predictor of poor prognosis in prostate cancer [26], but the role of HOOK3 in regulating cancer progression and drug resistance has not been studied.
