Strikingly, the syncytin‐2 (ERVFRD‐1) sequence, which had a basal level of expression in most normal tissues, was slightly repressed in control adjacent tissues, and even more repressed in tumor conditions, except for the kidney, where we could observe faint ERVFRD‐1 activation in control adjacent tissues, as for HEMO. This evidence concerns the gene ERVFRD-1 and neoplasm.
