LEF1 and acute myeloid leukemia: The TCF7L2 (encoding TCF4) in combination with β-catenin forms a complex that regulates expression of genes in monocytes and it is thus involved in the differentiation process (Thiele et al., 2001; Tickenbrock, 2006; Malsin et al., 2019), whereas LEF-1 facilitates nuclear localization of β-catenin and enhances proliferation in acute myeloid leukemia cells, including THP-1 cells (Morgan et al., 2019).
