Together with these studies, our trial suggests that mTOR inhibitor everolimus might sensitize the checkpoint blockade including anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 antibodies, which provides potential possibility for further studies focusing on anti-tumor activity of mTOR or AKT inhibitors combined with PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in treating HR+ and HER2- breast cancer patients. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is breast carcinoma.
