We have reported a mean annual rate of incident prospective breast cancers in BRCA1/2 PV carriers of 1.6% (1.55% BRCA2, 1.73% BRCA1) [28], consistent with currently published 69–72% risks by age 80 years [29, 30] when extrapolated over a 50-year risk period. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and breast cancer.
