GPT and metabolic syndrome: In the fully adjusted model of the analytic sample (Fig. 2), elevated biomarker ratio with prevalent MetS (elevated UACR: HR, 95% CI = 2.57, 1.99–3.33, and elevated AST-ALT: HR = 2.22, 1.61–3.07) was positively associated with all-cause mortality, compared to the referent group—that is, the group with neither elevated biomarker ratio nor MetS.
