Several of the investigated proteins, such as p38 MAPK (Balboa et al., 2013), NFκB (Bai et al., 2013), and Akt (Singh and Subbian, 2018) have been suggested as therapeutic targets in TB as they confer regulatory roles of infection and inflammation (Blumenthal et al., 2002; Yadav et al., 2004; Basu et al., 2012).
