Considering that proinflammatory/anti-inflammatory mediators balance plays a critical role in regulating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and that our curcumin delivery strategy promotes IL-10 in both experimental models, atherosclerosis (Figure 3B) and EAE (Figure 4E), we took advantage of the latter in the sense that a single knock-out mouse strain would suffice to test the IL-10 requirement.
