Interestingly, upon Salmonella infection, several of the Cluster 1 ISGs actually became less abundant relative to SCR controls (Figure 8G; Oasl2, Ddx58, Isg15, Usp18; +SAL Cluster 3), highlighting dysregulation of specific type I interferon genes in the absence of hnRNP K and U. Cluster 2 DEGs, on the other hand, were more abundant in both uninfected and Salmonella-infected hnRNP K and U knockdown macrophages (Figure 8G; +SAL Clusters 4 and 5).
