VIM and neoplasm: Vimentin is a potential target for cancer treatment (Strouhalova et al., 2020) since it is critically involved in the cellular processes, such as epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) (Liu et al., 2015), cell migration and invasion (Sharma et al., 2019), that are the common features of all solid tumors, not limited to a particular tumor type.
