Accordingly, we demonstrated that PEBP decreased the formation of cancer stem cells (CSCs) by controlling phosphatase and tensin homolog/phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/protein kinase B (PTEN/PI3K/AKT), interleukin 6/ signal transducer, and activator of transcription 3 (IL-6/STAT3), and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways, which are central nodes in CSC signaling and homeostasis [22]. This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and cancer.
