The second objective of this study was to determine if acute functional silencing of PV+ FFI interneurons (sufficient to cause absence seizures) in Gi-DREADD (Designer Receptors Exclusively Activated by Designer Drug) mice [14,15] alters the level of GADs and/or GATs and hence GABA levels over a short time scale. This evidence concerns the gene GRAP2 and juvenile absence epilepsy.
