GPER1 and breast carcinoma: As ERα36 and GPER1 are expressed in both MCF7 (ERα66 protein positive) [11] and SKBR3 (ERα66 protein negative) breast cancer cells [6,15], we explored the role of ERα36 expression on the phenotypic characteristics of these cell lines in the present study, additionally focusing on its effect on inflammation-related processes.
