Importantly, in the present study, the kinetics of T cells in lung dLNs was different, showing no increase in the frequency of CD3+ T cells and a rather stable ratio of CD4+ to CD8+ T cells, indicating differential accumulation kinetics between the site of infection and the dLNs and emphasizing the relevance of T cells within the infected tissue for the immune defense [36].
