Nine proteins passed these criteria (Table 1), and intriguingly, Collagen type I alpha 1 chain (Col1a1), Cathepsin B (Ctsb), and Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (Vegfr3) were included in the pathways uniquely associated with increased plasma proteins in Non-regression mice (Supplementary Table S1), suggesting a possible biological link between these proteins and rectal tumors resistant to chemoradiation. The gene discussed is CTSB; the disease is rectal neoplasm.
