Balachandran et al. described an animal model in which imatinib increased the frequency, activation, and proliferation of intra-tumor CD8+ T cells and apoptosis of T-reg cells, producing an increase in the ratio of CD8/T-reg, but not changing the amount of IL-4, IL-17, or interferon-gamma (NF-γ) produced by CD4+ T cells or the percentage of myeloid cells, B cells, NK cells or NKT cells.
