To date, the apoptotic pathways through which oncolytic viruses, such as M011L-oncolytic myxoma virus, CRAd-S-5/3, and Delta24RGD, kill glioma cells are not fully understood, and present data suggest a complex contribution of Bcl-2-like protein 4 (BAX) [33], p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis protein (PUMA) [13], and B-cell lymphoma 2 protein (BCL2) [21,33] in tumor inhibition. This evidence concerns the gene BAX and neoplasm.
