To determine the role of Axin2 on the Hippo pathway in clinical samples, we analyzed RNA expression data from primary human CRC having APC/CTNNB1 mutational status (210 samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas, TCGA), choosing CTGF, CYR61, and Axin2 transcripts, which are representative transcriptional target genes of the YAP and TCF/LEF machinery, respectively [27]. This evidence concerns the gene CTNNB1 and colorectal carcinoma.
