AKR1B10 and colorectal cancer: In gastric carcinoma, oral squamous cell and lung adenocarcinoma AKR1B10 overexpression was associated with significantly poorer prognosis [34,35,41,42], but AKR1B10 was downregulated in colorectal cancer cells compared to the adjacent normal colorectal tissues, and the survival of AKR1B10 negative patients was significantly worse [43].
