MMP14 and neoplasm: MT1-MMP plays an essential role in numerous fundamental physiological and pathophysiological processes, such as promoting angiogenesis, cell migration, tumor growth, and metastasis, modulating inflammation response and osteoclast activity, regulating the development of the early brain and neuromuscular junctions, and mediating the formation of intrahepatic bile ducts (Gifford and Itoh, 2019; Chan et al., 2020; Esteban et al., 2020; Jiang et al., 2020; Oentaryo et al., 2020; Sato et al., 2020; Zhu et al., 2020).
