In some studies, the models applying data of a specific time-point after surgery remained to be effective predictors of HCC prognosis, such as ALBI grade at the first year after resection (20), AFP response (change of AFP before and 1 week after hepatectomy) (21), daily decrease of post-operative AFP (22), postoperative serum osteopontin level (23), etc. In this study, we further investigated the postoperative ALRI model using hematologic findings extracted 2 months after radical resection, which more accurately predicted patients’ physical condition after surgery. The gene discussed is AFP; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
