In comparison with non-carriers, homozygous carriers showed an increased risk of sepsis (p=0.016) and higher mean serum LBP concentrations at inclusion (130.1μg/mL for homozygous carriers and 101.6μg/mL for non-carriers, respectively) and at the seventh day (98.9μg/mL for homozygous carriers and 58.7μg/mL for non-carriers, respectively.
