Multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis adjusted for age, sex, systolic blood pressure, NYHA functional class, prior HF hospitalization, hemoglobin, eGFR, sodium, BNP, LVEF, and the use of ACEI and/or ARB, beta-blockers, or aldosterone antagonists revealed that the hazard ratio for mortality in GPS 1 and 2 patients relative to GPS 0 patients were 1.53 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.96–2.43, p = 0.071) and 2.92 (95% CI 1.77–4.81, p < 0.001), respectively (Table 3).
