Among all these polymorphic sites, the PDCD1 promoter region -606G>A polymorphism (rs36084323) has been associated with the oncogenic p53 protein in breast cancer (Hua et al., 2011), in measles-induced autoimmune neurological manifestations (Ishizaki et al., 2010), and the susceptibility to hepatitis B infection (Hou et al., 2017). Here, TP53 is linked to breast cancer.
