Tumor telomerase activity is considered a negative prognostic factor for several cancers (33–37), while spontaneous anti-hTERT CD4+ immune responses have been identified as a positive prognostic factor in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (38), substantiating both the natural immunogenicity of hTERT and its relevance as a target for TCVs. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
