ILF2 and cancer: This allowed to identify similar gene expression profiles along the cancer differentiation trajectory, which shows (I) a loss of hepatocyte differentiation markers such as ASGR1, SLC10A1, and ALB (Uhlén et al, 2015) early in P1 tumor, (II) an early expression of inflammatory genes, for example, TGFBI and NFKBIA suggesting their role in the carcinogenetic process, and (III) a gain of cancer-associated marker gene expression, for example, ILF2 and CDK5RAP3 late in the P2 tumor.
