IL13 and colitis: Interestingly, intrarectal trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid administration to SJL/J or C57BL/10 mice induces a transmural colitis mainly driven by a Th1-mediated immune response and characterized by infiltration of the lamina propria with CD4+ T cells, neutrophils, and macrophages, whereas oxazolone colitis is characterized by robust IL-13 production originating from lamina propria CD4+ natural killer T cells (Kiesler et al. 2015).
