Based on previous studies [3, 4, 6, 7], we hypothesized that patients with COVID-19 pneumonia may have high levels of angiotensin II, because SARS CoV-2 causes ACE2 dysfunction in the human body [10], and that ARBs could improve the prognosis of COVID-19 by regulating the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) [3].
