We identified a subset of METTL genes, notably METTL1, METTL2A, METTL2B, METTL7B, NTMT1, and METTL26, with high frequencies of genomic amplification and/or up-regulation, while METTL7A and METTL24 were under-expressed, at both mRNA and/or protein levels in a spectrum of human cancers. This evidence concerns the gene METTL2B and cancer.
