A higher prevalence of macrovascular complications was noted in the following: those with HbA1c ≥ 75 mmol/mol or ≥9% (n/N = 27/1014, 2.7%; Table 2), in men (n/N = 102/3528, 2.9%), and older participants (age ≥ 66 years: n/N = 24/429, 5.6%; Table S7 and S8); in participants having retinopathy (n/N = 16/141, 11.3%) or nephropathy (n/N = 17/154, 11.0%) vs. those having neuropathy (n/N = 45/737, 6.1%; Table S9) and in insulin‐treated (n/N = 71/1548, 4.6%) vs. insulin‐naïve (n/N = 74/4688, 1.6%) participants (Table S5).
