In line with the phenotypes observed in TFEB-Tg mice and in Atg5-Tg mice, liver-specific Raptor KO mice are resistant to diet-induced obesity and to hepatic steatosis, and these effects are, at least in part, mediated by the mTORC1 target Lipin1 (Peterson et al., 2011). Here, ATG5 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
